I'm a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where I completed degrees in Finance at Wharton and Computer Science at the School of Engineering. Pursuing both degrees simultaneously allowed me to synthesize my passion for both business and technology, which I hope to continue to do in my career as a product manager at Google!
CIS 110 is the introductory programming course at Penn. I served a as head TA for 5 semesters and was responsible for hiring and managing our course staff of ~50 TAs, developing course materials such homeworks and exams, working on the course infrastructure, and augmenting the student experience by implementing new ideas such as weekly review sessions. I also assumed the responsibilites of a regular TA as well.
I worked as a product management intern on Google's Dynamic Search Ads, an automated advertising product that leverages machine learning in order to automatically generate ad headlines and target relevant queries based on an advertisers website. I worked on a variety of projects over my 12 weeks at Google including the proposal of two new features, two A/B tests to evaluate if a modified UI would improve engagement, and the development of a stategic priotized roadmap for the second half of the year.
I worked on the middle office technology team where I developed an end-to-end full stack dynamic single page web application to help managers audit and edit application permissions for their direct reports. I used a variety of technologies including HTML, CSS, and AngularJS on the front end, C# and ASP.NET for the API, and PL/SQL for database management.
CIS 110 is the introductory programming course at Penn. As a TA, I was responsible for teaching a weekly recitation to 10-20 students, holding office hours, monitoring our online Q&A forum, and grading student assignments. I also took it upon myself to create a set of powerpoint slides to accompany our recitations, which became part of our standard course materials and led to me being promoted to head TA.
